SOUTHBANK MARINA DEVELOPMENT, GLASGOW

Client: Strathkelvin Development Co.

The development compromises the construction of a 46-boat canal basin on the Forth Clyde Canal. Surrounding this set, over 3 levels, are 3,000m 2 of speculative office accommodation, specialist accommodation for British Waterways, boatyard development for the Seagull Trust and 700m 2 of pub/restaurant. Our remit has been to design and develop the scheme from concept through to completion. This has involved detailed liaison with the stakeholders, the local authority, the Planning Department and British Waterways. Due to the canal being a National Monument we are also in close discussion with Historic Scotland on the proposed works to the canal itself.
