MELDRUM ACADEMY

A new secondary school designed for 940 pupils with provision for future expansion to accommodate a total of 1200.

The internal and external sporting facilities, library, catering and assembly spaces are all designed as shared school and community facilities.

The design provides a hierarchy of public and social space which will be a significant factor in generating community spirit in the school.

The internal circulation is rational and well structured, natural daylighting is optimised and enhanced by the use of colour.

The dominant entrance is an important feature which has already become a well recognised landmark in the neighbourhood.
