The new £60m 32,000 seat Coventry Stadium and Arena is known as the Ricoh Arena, after a £10M sponsorship deal was agreed with the Japanese IT company. The project was on site for 17 months, and was completed ready for Championship Football in 2005/2006.
The scheme is a landmark building which creates a new gateway to the City and provide a unique facility. It is one of the most prestigious stadium, arenas, conference and exhibition centres in the country, containing a 9000m² Exhibition Facility, a Conference Centre, a 9000m² Resort Casino - to be operated by US based Isle of Capri - A Health and Fitness Club and a 75 bedroom hotel.
The host club Coventry City F.C. are the prime tenant leasing the stadium complex and sharing the box/bedrooms with the hotel and catering operator. |
