ROSE BOWL CRICKET CLUB, HAMPSHIRE

Client : Hampshire Council
Capacity : 25,000

The Miller Partnership has been commissioned to redevelop the existing West and East Gate Stands at the Rose Bowl Cricket Club, Hampshire. These stands will bookcase the existing Hopkins pavilion and will be the integrating link with the hotel complex.

The two proposed new stands are part of a larger master plan, which includes a 4-star hotel and 18 hole golf course. The Miller Partnership working as part of a multi disciplinary team to create this prestigious new development have set the integrating structural elements to bind the project together. The proposed design reinforces the “bowl” concept on the upper seating decks, whilst unifying the stadium and hotel.

The new design will increase the ground capacity from 20,000 to 25,000 whilst offering new hospitality, executive and retail areas. The structural system works off a series of steel sickles with louvers between, acting as an outer shell around the two new stands.
